Choral Reincarnations: old Latin lives anew in choral music of Ralph Vaughan Williams and Ola Gjeilo
Program
The Mass, an antiphon, and a 14th-century secular fantasy spring to life again in the Mass in G Minor, The Spherses, Ubi Caritas, Unicornis Captivatur, and Phoenix. We will also sing earlier and contrasting settings of the same texts, by Palestrina, Duruflé, Byrd, and an anonymous composer of the medieval Engelberg Codex.
